| Assistant Chief Merriam joined the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department February 8th 1981. Chief Merriam was promoted from Captain to the position of Assistant Chief in 1996, a title he has held since. Chief Merriam is the Training officer and Safety officer for the
SCAFD. Chief Merriam was the Chairman of the Standards committee for the GCAFC
from 2006-2008 He has served on the board since the 2006-2007 board year. |

| Chief Cairnduff joined the Fenton City Fire Department in 1996, prior to joining he spent 5 years with the City of Linden Fire Dept. Chief Cairnduff was hired as Chief in 2006. He is certified through the Fire Department Safety Officers Association as a "Fire Suppression-Incident Safety Officer". Chief Cairnduff is a certified Fire Inspector through
NFPA, and the State of MI. as well as a licensed Paramedic, and EMS Instructor Coordinator with the State of MI. Current member of the MI fire chiefs association, and the Southeast MI fire chiefs association, he is the GCAFC representative for the County EMS board and was installed in 2008-2009 board year. |
